Twilight Readings Question

In the second reading “TWILIGHT AS A CULTURAL FORCE” they mention toward the end how the author got their inspiration for the Quileute tribe. She looked up what the rainiest place was in the United States and found it to be Forks, Washington. She then discovered a nearby tribe, the Quileute Nation, and checked out its Web site. She took the Quileute creation story of wolves transformed to men and adapted it in Twilight into what has come to be known as the Wolf Pack. Some of the people who are apart of the Wolf Pack got offended because in the book she portrays them as werewolves and they are not so that got some of them upset. I don’t understand why they would be so upset when they got recognition because of this book and have gotten a lot of tourists to the area. They also have sold some more items on their website because of the recognition they have received from the book and movie. It just confuses me why this would upset them but I guess everyone has their own opinions.
